Korean Patient from Canada Shares Cataract Surgery Experience at Healing Eye Clinic
A Korean patient, born in 1968 and residing in Canada, personally visited Korea to undergo cataract surgery.
Currently working in the IT field as an office worker, the patient's presbyopia had become so severe that even computer text was difficult to see.
They mentioned that even trimming their fingernails or toenails took as long as 20 minutes.
Feeling the need for prompt surgery before the condition worsened, they searched YouTube for doctors providing information on cataracts.
Ultimately, they felt the greatest trust in my words.

When deciding on the surgery, what were your biggest concerns?
Of course, other parts of the body are important, but the eyes are especially concerning if something goes wrong.
Moreover, there were many videos on YouTube saying, 'Don't get cataract surgery,' which caused a lot of worry.
Perhaps because of this, I was very concerned about the outcome.
I have performed over 20,000 cataract surgeries, and at times, I have operated on 53 patients in a single day.
Before deciding on and undergoing the surgery, were you nervous or scared?
Actually, I was very nervous.
During the consultation, the explanations were very trustworthy, but I was still worried about potential problems or pain in my eye.
However, lying on the warm mat and listening to the director's gentle voice eased my tension.
I felt it on YouTube as well, but the director's calm tone helped me relax.
During the surgery, they said, "It will be over soon, so think of a happy moment~"
Before I could even think of one, it was over in an instant, haha.
(Usually, it's completed quickly within 5-10 minutes^^)
JTBC, YTN, KBS, and other TV programs contacted me, and I gratefully participated in filming.
When deciding on surgery, why did you choose our clinic over many others?
Since I live abroad, YouTube was my only source of information.
So, I watched dozens of related videos.
However, most of them talked about 'Our hospital is the best.'
But the director's YouTube channel (Ophthalmologist Sister) had a simple message.
Speaking without pretense, I felt sincerity.
Even though the message wasn't flashy, I felt immense confidence within it.
The chairman of a Dutch optics company that developed Preceyes lenses also watches the YouTube channel and wanted to talk, so he came to Korea!
This patient also had Preceyes lenses inserted in their right eye.
After undergoing cataract surgery, were there any discomforts?
I had no pain or foreign body sensation, as if I hadn't even had surgery.
I don't know about others, but I didn't experience any.
Lastly... any words for those considering cataract surgery?
The surgery went so well and the results were so good that I can confidently say:
'It's best to get surgery as soon as possible.'
Cataracts don't come on suddenly but progress gradually.
If presbyopia has already started and your vision is blurry,
(because it will get worse later) I recommend getting it done as soon as possible.
And I highly recommend coming here.
